2018 SINGLE BLOCK D PINOT NOIR

$95.00 inc GST

This wine is powerful, complex with savoury meats and dark fruits on the nose, concentrated herb, smoky oak and undergrowth that support the sapid black fruit, fleshy mid palate and long structural tannins.

Bright cerise colour, aromas of sweet red cherry, fresh raspberries and florals. The palate is intensely juicy and plump, supported by refined yet chalky tannins that add structure and definition, beautifully crafted with much to give.

Block D, planted in 1998, is situated on the steep south facing slope, consisting of dark brown volcanic clay-loams at the top, to black clay-loams towards the bottom. This low yielding block was fermented with 25% whole bunches, natural malolactic fermentation and 9 months maturation with 1/4 new French oak.
