The Brown Magpie Vineyard was established in 1998, born from Shane’s love of fine wine and Loretta’s love of viticulture. The 20-hectare property is situated in Modewarre, in the hinterland of the Surf Coast and the Great Ocean Road. Gentle north facing slopes provide an ideal location for the vines, producing fruit with great balance and finesse.
Aromatically intense, this wine bursts from the glass with dark sweet juicy fruits, hints of cocoa and plum pudding spice. A dense but youthful core of primary fruits evoke flavours reminiscent of freshly roasted coffee beans, hints of tapenade and a fine line of acidity that heightens the vibrancy and energetic nature of this wine. Balance and purity are at the heart with a persistence and intensity that is admirable
