Planted by the Farr’s & the Weir families in 1979 to the P58 clone on its own roots. This is the oldest block on the property and continually produces fruit with depth and purity. Gently whole bunch pressed with the initial high solids nutrient rich juice taken directly from the press tray into French oak for natural fermentation. The balance of the juice is cold settled before putting to oak, with battonage to create layered complexity.

Light straw in colour, the wines aroma is mesmerizingly layered with green apples, ocean spray and complex sulphides providing matchstick complexity. A full-bodied core of primary fruit envelops the palate with structural chalky fine tannins adding a saline driven backbone. Fine, long and intense, this wine embodies power and restraint.
