2023 SINGLE BLOCK B2 PINOT NOIR
$95.00 inc GST
Planted in 1995 to clones GM18 and F6V7 on its own roots on the alluvial Moorabool River flats. Small batch open fermenters of individual clones were whole berry fermented with a portion of whole bunch, and a portion cold soaked prior to ferment to enhance flavour and colour. Maturation was for approximately 10 months in 60% new and a mixture of older French barrels.
| Style | This is a deeply aromatic and complex wine. The initial impression is of dark forest fruits—black cherry and ripe blackberry—intertwined with a wild, brambly character. Lurking just beneath are layers of savoury notes, like forest floor and dried herbs, all framed by the unmistakable, high-quality scent of cedar and a touch of warm spice from the oak. The finish is long and satisfying, carried by wonderfully silky tannins that coat the palate without a hint of harshness. The lingering notes are a complex medley of dark fruit, cedar, and a final savoury twist. |
