Planted between 1995 and ‘98, the D block comprises 8 acres of vines on the vineyard’s south facing slope. Facing away from the sun means this site is slightly cooler than the North Slope. The soils consist of dark brown volcanic clay-loams at the top, to black clay-loams towards the bottom.
